Performance
The current model of the new Mercedes-AMG SL to arrive in Canada will be the familiar, SL 63 4MATIC+; what is noticeably new is the “4MATIC+” as the new Mercedes-AMG SL will come standard with all-wheel drive specifically engineered for Mercedes-AMG models. The performance figures of the SL 63 4MATIC+ are 577hp with maximum toque output at 590 lb-ft, acceleration of 0-100km/h has been timed at 3.6 seconds; all this coming from the Mercedes-Benz famous 4.0-litre V8biturbo engine paired with the AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT 9G transmission. Exterior Styling
Typical of the SL fashion, the new SL 63 4MATIC+ features a long hood, short overhangs, sloping windscreen over cabin, sculpted rear wheel arches, staunch rear end; all confidently combined in the classic SL long wheelbase. The chassis is designed as a lightweight composite aluminum structure and consists of an aluminum space frame with a self-supporting structure. Interior Styling
Fine materials and meticulous workmanship underline the standard of the highest level of comfort. The cockpit design, right down to the adjustable central display in the centre console, is focused on the driver. With electrically adjustable AMG sports seats as standard, and AMG Performance seats as optional, both will also be equipped with AIRSCARF, which allows warm air to flow from air outlets in the head restraints and wrap around the head and neck area of front seat occupants. All of this to be encased by the new electric soft top, which offers lighter weight, a lower centre of gravity and the ability to be stowed more compactly for better driving performance and practicality.

Technology
As a first for the Mercedes-AMG SL, active rear-axle steering will come as standard, turning the rear wheels in the opposite direction to a certain degree –up to 100km/h –this will increase maneuverability to make the SL more agile and stable in the winding bends and shorten turning radius on city streets. High-tech components such as the AMG ACTIVE RIDE CONTROL suspension with active anti-roll stabilization, rear-axle steering, the optionally available AMG ceramic high-performance composite brake system and the standard-fit DIGITAL LIGHT with projection function sharpen the sporty profile. Finally, the six AMG DYNAMIC SELECT driving modes "Slippery", "Comfort", "Sport", "Sport +", "Individual" and "RACE" enable a wide spread of vehicle characteristics from comfortable to dynamic.
The latest generation MBUX (Mercedes-Benz User Experience) offers numerous functional contents and the operating structure. In the SL, AMG-specific content is added extensively in five display styles. Exclusive menu items such as "AMG Performance" or "AMG TRACK PACE" operating as the Driver’srace engineer, helping strive for the perfect lap. With the help of numerous sensors, cameras and radar, the available driving assistance systems observe traffic and the surroundings and if necessary, can intervene at a moments notice. The new assistance display in the instrument cluster shows comprehensibly and transparently how the driving assistance systems work in a full-screen view. The driver can see their car, lanes, lane markings and other road users in an abstracted 3-D way, allowing a near barrier-free experience for the Driver’s operation.
