The 2019 Mercedes-Benz A-Class was unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show back in 2018 and introduced earlier this year to the Canadian market. Europe has had the A-Class for years, but this new generation is the first model to hit our market and there’s a lot to be excited about.
Replacing the Mercedes-Benz B-Class, the new A-Class is Mercedes-Benz’ new entry-level model but you would never know it looking inside the A-Class’ luxurious cabin. Offered in two versions (hatchback and sedan), the A-Class is the perfect way to enjoy Mercedes-Benz luxury, technology and refinement at a price point that packs a lot of value.
The new A-Class offers a luxurious cabin that incorporates several elements of the E-Class and the S-Class’ design. This means that you get a truly impressive level of luxury and refinement despite a starting price that is set at just $34,990. The A-Class hatchback starts at $35,990 and both the sedan and the hatch can get 4Matic all-wheel drive for an extra $2,000. The A-Class hatchback is powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine that makes 221 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque while the sedan also gets a 2.0-litre turbo, but it makes 188 horsepower and 221 pound-feet of torque.
The A-Class also includes the brand-new Mercedes-Benz MBUX infotainment system which integrates advanced voice commands and artificial intelligence to simplify interactions and make the entire vehicle more enjoyable and easier to live with. With MBUX, you can do things like simply tell the system that it’s too hot inside the cabin and the technology will immediately activate the air conditioning system. This is just one of the many features of MBUX.
