Just For Laughs Vancouver
February 16–25, 2023
For a hilarious evening with your older kids—or, let’s be honest, for a well-deserved parents’ night out—pick up some tickets to JFL Vancouver, Western Canada’s biggest comedy festival. There are plenty of acts to choose from this year, including big names like Sarah Silverman, Margaret Cho, Patton Oswald, and Sarah Sherman, along with big-laugh local talents like The Ryan & Amy Show and The Sasha Ha-Ha Show.
FAN EXPO Vancouver
February 18–20, 2023
If your family has any comic book fans, sci-fi/horror addicts, or gamers for that matter, you may well already have tickets to FAN EXPO at the Vancouver Convention Centre. The three-day-long event will have autograph signings, costumed characters, and collectables galore, along with celebrity photo ops for superfans of anything from Star Wars (Anthony Daniels, who played C-3PO, will be there) to Star Trek (Brent Spiner, who played Data, will be there too).
VMF Winter Arts Festival
February 16–26, 2023
For 11 days this February, the Winter Arts Festival will be orchestrating public art and entertainment scattered around Downtown Vancouver, headquartered outside the Vancouver Art Gallery. Now in its third year, the family-friendly festival produced by VMF (the team behind Vancouver Mural Festival) will once again bring together music, dance, markets, tours, and parties that celebrate our city and its diverse communities. VMF After Dark will also feature a series of late-night, 19+ ticketed pop-up parties.
Whistler-Blackcomb Day Trip
A day trip, or overnight getaway, to Whistler is a surefire guarantee for a scenic, fun-filled weekend to remember. By day, take in family favourites like skiing and snowboarding, or the Squamish Lil'wat Cultural Centre. By night, check out the multimedia night walk, Vallea Lumina, or the Fire & Ice show in central Skiers Plaza (happening Sunday, February 19). It’s an exciting spectacle that sees Whistler’s best skiers and riders jump through rings of real fire, followed by fireworks and live entertainment into the night.
