6 Tips For Getting Your Mercedes Ready For Summer.
May 09 2024, Mercedes-Benz Vancouver
With summertime on the horizon and the open road calling, now is the time to bring your Mercedes-Benz in for a certified service. Here are six points to consider when preparing your vehicle for a new season of weekend road trips, Sunday cruises and everything in between.
Spring Detailing
Winter brings all sorts of grim and clutter to the interior and exterior areas of your vehicle that can be easy to miss on quick inspection. Giving your car a detailed cleaning is a great way to mark the change of every season, and essential in the spring to remove the wear and tear that winter brings. We suggest doing a thorough undercarriage wash, removing any residue and treating your vehicle to a good wax. Clean those floor mats and empty out any extra brush or winter necessities from your trunk.

Take Off Those Winter Tires
Winter tires are no longer required on mountain passes past April 30, and with temperatures holding well above 7°C, it’s time to switch to an all-season or performance tire.
Many Canadians live in a climate that makes winter tires a safety requirement when the temperature drops. In BC, winter tires are mandatory on all mountain passes until April 30. Once the mercury climbs above (and stays there!) it’s time to switch back to your all-season or performance tires.
Summer Tire Install and Balance $150 (On Rims)

Check Your Brakes
Your brake pads rely on clean, properly lubricated metal frames to work properly. Road salt used during the winter season can corrode metal and impact the condition of your brakes. Take advantage of our complimentary mechanical visual inspection when you come in for your spring tire change at our service center.
Our Visual Health Check Includes:
- A multi-point inspection and report
- Checking tire pressure, tread depth and damage
- Examining brake system for wear
- Inspecting vital engine components such as battery, hoses, belts, A/C system and more
Tire Alignment
Potholes grow in both number and size during the winter months and they certainly take their toll on your car. Having your tire alignment checked in the spring will ensure a safe vehicle in warmer weather. Proper alignment benefits include a smoother ride, better fuel efficiency, improved vehicle safety, and extended life of your tires. Lastly, if you kept your all-season or all-weather tires on over the winter, consider having them rotated as the seasons change to prepare for summer travel.

Check Your Tire Pressure
Checking your tire pressure is something many people do year-round. Your tires lose about one pound per square inch for every 6°C drop in temperature, so it’s important to check your pressure as we near warmer temperatures. Along with a pressure test, check your tire tread for wear—they should have at least 3mm of tread remaining. If they need to be replaced, we offer the Dilawri Tire Program on all sets of tires purchased and installed.
This Program Includes:
Two-Year Tire Hazard Warranty: Our warranty offers free tire replacement for the first year, with the second year coverage prorated depending on tread depth and overall wear.
Two-Year Tire Roadside Assistance: With our tire roadside assistance, you will receive free roadside towing to any Dilawri Dealership in BC up to 50km.
Replace Your Wiper Blades
Your windshield wipers get a real workout keeping your view clear of snow and sleet over the winter, so replacing them every spring (and fall) is a small investment in making sure you have unobstructed views of the road.
